St Paul instructed us to “weep with those who weep”, and so today we share in the sorrow of our good friend Joshua, whose father Keith has passed away. Yet we also remember our Lord’s injunction to the house of Jairus: “Do not weep, for she is not dead, only sleeping”. We commend Keith to our Lord, and look forward to the time when he will raise us to eternal life on the Last Day.
