Saint Teresa was the realistic, vital and warm Carmelite spiritual reformer of 16th century Spain. Her collaboration with Saint John of the Cross contributed to a new springtime in the Church which at that time had been fractured by wars, scandals and the Reformation. Her spiritual reflections are among the great classics of the spiritual life and yet, her Way to Perfection and The Interior Castle have so much to offer women and men in the 21st century and to the difficult times for the Church today.

About Schütz

I am Catholic, married to Cathy, father of Maddy & Mia. Since 2002, I have been the Executive Officer of the Ecumenical & Interfaith Commission of the Archdiocese of Melbourne. I was once a Lutheran pastor, but a "year of grace" and soul-searching led me into the Catholic Church. It was a bumpy ride, but with the support of my (still Lutheran) wife, I was finally confirmed on June 16, 2003.
