Days in the Diocese: Day One: Welcome Ceremony

It was standing room only in St Patrick’s Cathedral today, which was full to the gill with young people (probably the first time in its life). As one of the blokes on the door said to me, it was a real shame they had to turn unticketed folk away–it was crammed full as it was. Anyway, here are pictures and video again:

And pictures: Archbishop Hart was the celebrant, assisted by Bishop Peter Elliott and Cardinal Napier from South Africa. The light was really beautiful in the Cathedral (as usual on a sunny day). The waving of flags and singing by the pilgrims added to the festive feel.
