And now for something completely different…

King Kong.

I have just watched with my kids the 2005 remake of King Kong by Peter Jackson.

Apart from the fact that one can easily seem the fingerprints of the maker of Lord of the Rings in this film (not least in its length – almost 3 hours), it is a terrific film in every way – great film making.

But it has to be said that Jackson has paid incredible tribute to the makers of the original 1933 film, right down to reproducing the story almost scene by scene.

This is classic film making in every sense of the word. If anything, the remake brings out the greatness of 6the original. I highly recommend it.
