Follow the bouncing ball and learn the chants of the new missal!

In preparation for my new Anima Education course “The New Mass”, I was hunting around on YouTube for some resources.

O happy day, I hit paydirt with 23 contributions from Musica Sacra. These short videos show the chants as they will be printed in our new missals, all beautifully and excellently chanted by a single male voice.

It might be an idea to share these with your local parish priest, to let him know what is possible, how beautiful this is, and how simple. The best bit is that these chants will actually be included IN our missals. You won’t have to go searching for any other resources.

But if you want more, then by the time you learn these chants, Dr Geoffrey Cox’s accompaniment to them should be published. Some parts are already available on the Archbishop’s Office for Evangelisation website:

Download Accompaniment for Gloria XV (English)

Download Accompaniment for Memorial Acclamations

Download Accompaniment for The Lord’s Prayer (Australian version) (Nb. The Australian chant for the Lord’s Prayer is different from the one provided by Musica Sacra on Youtube)

And you can download the parish peoples’ chant card by clicking here.
