About This Blog
Sentire Cum Ecclesia began years ago back when blogs were the latest thing. They are a bit passe now, and I spend most of my time on twitter (@scecclesia) but from time to time, I do add new things on this ‘ere website. Mostly I use it as a place for journaling about my Pilgrimage experiences.
The motto of the blog is:

23rd Sunday in Football Time
No, there’s nothing “ordinary” about it at all, at least, not for born and bred Melbournians. I, of course, am excluded from that category. Having been born in South Australia, where at least (acc. to Victorians) they play the right … Continue reading

Catherine Deveny and David Schütz EXACTLY alike…

"True Islam", the Regensburg Affair, and Interfaith difficulties in Bioethics
Funny thing, history. It either condemns or vindicates if you give it long enough. I think in time, history will vindicate Benedict XVI over the Regensburg Affair. You will remember the violent condemnation that followed his remarks about the relationship … Continue reading

In defence of Fr Zuhlsdorf and WDTPRS
Cathnews has much to be thanked for, including the plugs they occasionally give to worthy blogsites. In particular, I am thinking of the recent plug it gave to Fr Z’s “What does the Prayer Really Say” blog – although it … Continue reading

Dead Man Walking in Denver? Pope sets Sr Helen Prejeans right!
On his blog, With a Grain of Salt, Peter Holmes picks up Mark O’Shea’s reaction to the comments of Sr Helen Prejean (the author of Dead Man Walking) who addressed a Democrats interfaith meeting in Denver. Usually an invitation is … Continue reading

Sentire Cum Ecclesia – The Rules of St Ignatius Loyola
Brian Coyne reminded me of my promise to write something regarding the rule Sentire Cum Ecclesia. The only reason I have not yet done so is that I am simply daunted by the task this presents. How can I do … Continue reading
